One Night @ the Call Center

One Night at @ the Call Center

Respected Sir,
As we discussed in our class also that Chetan Bhagat this name is enough for his fan readers who likes to read him, he has some different things in his writings that attracts his readers and that things are,

1. Contemporary issues in on@tcc :-

First thing is that one night at the call center is coming with some new issues of contemporary time. Not that kind of old issues like morality and revenge but coming with new ideas. Related with this new young generation. Call centers is itself is issue in our current time. Issues of gating jobs, issues related with Bossism and humiliated by bosses, issues of marriage and securities in jobs etc. This all the things that attracts his readers more in numbers. Radhika is not happy in his marriage life, Priyanka is worried about her mother all the time, Esha is sucked in his own problems and issues, Varun has his own problems related with parents and all.

So this all the things are related with Contemporary issues in on@tcc.

2.   Mannepean satire :-

Mannepean Satire is a serio-comic genre. The novel ON@TCC is considered as Mannepean satire, in which we find that these characters suffer from the problems in their lives. In this novel Chetan Bhagat represent the idea of bossism that the boss of call center who has a power over these six characters. In this way writer criticized who has power to rule other people.

Another example is writer also criticize generation gap and expectations of parents from their children in a very light tone. Ex:- Priyanka’s mother always creates dramatic situation that she is about to die so Priyanka has to get married as early as possible. I think this is satire on expectations of parents from their children in a very light tone.

3.  The effect of Globalization :-

In the novel Chetan Bhagat has presented the problems of the youth of India.  Each character suffers from the problems in their lives especially in call centre. “The World is Flat” is about the brief history of 21st century where he talks about the Globalization. Friedman, calling himself a "free-trader" and a "compassionate flatist", and he criticizes societies that resist these changes. In the same way Chetan Bhagat who also criticized the society in this novel.

In this novel we find many issues are raised in the life of the characters. Chetan Bhagat is best writer of the new generation. In this novel we find the bitter situation of the characters who working in the call center that they are exploit from their boss Bakshi and Chetan Bhagat also talks about  privatization policy, a very few industries give a job security.

4.   Popular Literature and ON@TCC :-

The writer of the 21st century mainly deals with the theme related to the problems of the society that people like to read about the novels. In the same way Chetan Bhagat always talks about in his novels the contemporary problems. Because throughout the literature writer can shares the wrong things which is surrounding to us and it became popular literature for the readers. In this novel we see the problems of Radhika and Esha.

Chetan Bhagat is popular writer of the age in his work he uses simple language that is very easy to understand for the readers. His books appeal to the readers widely accepted by the youngsters. In his works he writes about the contemporary issues that readers like to read and they choose this type of popular literature.

5.   Self-Help Book and ON@TCC :-

In this novel we can see the idea of self-help book. Self-help book means which written in the intention to instruct its readers on solving personal problems. It is also known as self-improvement. In this novel there is a call from God who gave solution to the characters. God says to these characters to not become frustrated by the problems. In this way all characters solves their own problems which they suffers in their lives. In his epilogue and prologues he gives tips as like self-help books.

Some another self-help books like Ex:- The Secret book written by Rhonda Byrne.

6.   Anti-American sentiments :-

In ON@TCC there is one of the theme in the novel is Anti-American. Chetan Bhagat believes that Indian should not consider inferior to Americans.  Vroom cannot stand two things: 1. The Racists and 2. The Americans.

He thinks that the Americans are superior then the India us “not because they are better people. But because their country is rich and ours is poor. That is the only damn reason. Because the losers who have run our country for the last fifty year could not do better than make India one of the poorest countries on the earth”. Throughout the character of Vroom Chetan Bhagat reflects the theme of Anti-American.

7.  What is Cyber Punk? Can on@tcc be categorised as cyber punk novel?

Cyberpunk is a subgenre of science fiction in a future setting, noted for its focus on "high tech and low life" aspects of society. It features advanced technology and science, such as information technology and cybernetics, coupled with a degree of breakdown or radical change in the social order.

In this novel ‘Bug’ plays vital role as a plot mover in this novel night at the call center where so many people’s jobs are secured with information of ‘Bug’.

And the second thing is use of FM radio to know truth of Anuj husband of Radhika that he has extra marital affair with another one with the help of this FM Radio.

So, we can say that this novel night at the call center talks about each and every aspects of 21st century.

                                         Thank You ….

How Technology is Useful in Process of Teaching and Learning in Education

How Technology is Useful in Process of Teaching and Learning in Education

We all are living in era of technology. By one or another way we all are connected with technology. So why we not try technology in process of teaching and learning. As food and breath is important for living I think technology is also that kind of part of our life.

Life starts with technology and ends with technology then someone may ask that What is technology ??

In simple words technology means all the things that is not a part of my body. Outer things are technology.

1. Why is it necessary to use Technology in Education?

·       In education main focus is on teaching learning process. And because of this Teacher is at the center from the very earlier stage of teaching learning process.

·       But now time is changing and with the flow of time teaching learning process is also starts changing. So now Students are at the center rather than teacher.

·       There are so many methods and approaches for teaching learning process but no one can replace technology as a best method of teaching learning process.

·       Books and printed things are also part of technology even Language itself is a part of technology because language is not natural but it is gift of human being to human being.

·       That’s why technology is very important thing in teaching learning process and it is necessary in process of teaching learning.

·       Self-learning is very important part of teaching learning process with the help of technology. Decentering the center from teacher to student.

2.  What is the difference between 'using' and 'integrating' technology?

Using and integrating is different words from each other. If technology is only used by teachers for the purpose of teaching learning process it called “Use of technology” and if technology is part of students’ life also it called “Integrating technology”.

If technology is part of routine life of students and teachers in process of teaching and learning it calls “Integrating technology”.

Examples :-

·       Students are working in environment of technology, surrounded by gadgets all the time, it is part of their lives too.

·       Reading in soft copies.

·       Completing given tasks

·       Online quizzes

3.  How can we integrate technology?

We are “Integrating technology” in process of teaching and learning.

·      Our teaching learning process starts with message on what’s app for schedule of that day.

·      Daily schedule process surrounded by technology only. Use of laptop, speakers, videos etc.

·      Lectures are conducted with help of power point presentations, videos, and audios, pictures so topic seems more clear and understandable.

·      At the end of unit there is online quiz for better evaluation.

·      Blog tasks, online quizzes, replies of emails for knowledge of outer world and free for thinking and creative writings.

·      Presentations given by students at the end of semesters.

So, with the help of this all the things we can say that technology is best tool for teacher in process of teaching and learning in this 21th century world.

Waiting For Godot - Movie Review

Waiting For Godot - Movie Review

Respected Sir,

As we watched this movie Waiting for Godot today, I can’t stop myself for giving response to this movie. Because personally I like this play Waiting for Godot and also movie versions of this play. I think that I want to give response for this movie as early as possible because I don’t want to forget anything from this play or from this movie.

1.  If we first talk about this painting “Longing by Caspar David Friedrich it is inspirational source of setting of Waiting For Godot. Here in this play Samuel Beckett used this all the things in his setting of the play. A country road. A tree. Evening” as setting. Because if we think very minutely we can realize that all the kinds of Waiting needs loneliness. If person is not alone he cannot wait for things for longer period of time. Because when he is not alone he forgets to wait for something and maybe he is busy in his works again. And this kinds of settings provides much loneliness to think constantly about Wait. Because waiting is very boring thing and if we spent our time in other things and we are starting to enjoying that things that time we forget to wait. Same like we forgotten to wait for death because we all are so busy in our life that we forget to wait for death because we are enjoying our lives.

2.  The tree is the only important ‘thing’ in the setting. Because we human beings connect our all emotions with natural things like trees, leaves, revers etc. Here we can say that tree is a symbol of thinking or thoughts. As tree goes much older it seems like more stronger and here in this play there is also one character named Vladimir who is much older and his thinking power is also very good which shows his maturity. In act one there is no leaf and in act two there is some few leaves on that barren tree what does it mean. Maybe writer wants to say that Hopes are never going to die. If one hope for living is ended from there onward other hope is starting.  Barren tree is compared with this earth and when people starts losing their Hopes about God suddenly there happens something and new leaves starting spreading it’s seeds.

3.  I would like to interpret this scene with the help of symbolic use in literature. As we already studied Archetypes of Literature by Northrop Frye. Morning is goes with life and Night is goes with death. Night is related with some bad things in literature. Morning time is also compared with birth of something and Night time is compared with death. So evening maybe goes with old age. And here two main central characters Vladimir and Estragon both are seems to be very old so may be waiting for night to coming or in that sense they are waiting for death to be coming. And we compered nature with God that this nature itself is a God so Moon is a symbol of inner enlightenment that person have light to me God within itself. If we search God in the outside of world he is not going to meet but if we search God within us may be he will meet us in a shape of faith, trust, happiness, enlightenment etc.  So moon symbolize strength and light of inner strength. Moon plays role of lighthouse.

4.  The director feels the setting with some debris. First of all I want to give meaning of this word Debris that what does it mean. Debris means scattered pieces of rubbish or remains. If we connect this thing with this play that time we feel that our whole life is seems to be debris. Our life is nothing but it is only jointed parts of some departed things. As Samuel Beckett says in his quote that,  "Nothing is more important than nothing". Same thing we can apply here that our life is not important as such. We born with some cries and we will die with some worries. Then comes waste and all types of Garbage. Our life is same like garbage. Nothing fruitful emerges from it.

5.  If talk about “Nothingness” in this play is nothingness is a central theme of this play. As Samuel Beckett says in his quote that, “Nothing is more important than nothing". Throughout the play nothing is happens. Only two characters waiting for someone to come named like Mr.Godot. They don’t know who he is? When he is going to come? Where he is going to come? They passing there time in monotones way. Repetition of actions are going on. Doing something very meaningless. Passing there time. Godot is not coming and play ends. So we can say that the play begins with the dialogue “Nothing to be done”. And Nothing remains at the center of this play.

6.  I am agreed with statement of E.G. Marshal, Life has to goes on no matters what takes it is. Even if we wish to kill our self we can’t. Because living life is a habit for all human beings. Taking breath is also deep-rooted habit of all of us. We cannot escape from this habit. It is one type of addiction and “Hope” provides energy to live life. So I am agree with this statement that this play Waiting for Godot is a positive play, not negative, not pessimistic.

7.  In this play audience find two things very easily. One is Boot and another is Hat. Here in this play writer used this both the things as symbols. Boots is a symbol of lower order of thinking or related with body only which has nothing to do with mind and thinking. Another symbol is Hat it symbolize higher level of thinking and thoughts which Vladimir is doing. It suggests different level of thinking process.

8.  Yes, I do agree with this statement that the obedience of Lucky is extremely irritating and nauseatic. But if we think generally it is habit of very human being that all human beings are obedient to one or another person. If not obedient to person than to God. If we see religiously or spiritually we all are slaves of God. If God is Pozzo we all are like Lucky the slave. We giving our rope to master God without asking single question.  And we try to ask means we dare to ask He never replies. We not giving priority to our questions, He is not reacting to our problem though we are blind follower of him and following him. We can’t go far from Him.  As master Pozzo says “Don’t questions me”. He don’t likes that anyone asks him questions. He never answers to anyone same things God is doing. So at the end I want to say that our mentality is also like slave Lucky that we are giving our rope to so called master known as God. We can’t escape our self from this feelings. It is merely to impossible things.

9.  According to me this all three things are appropriate for this unknown word Godot. Because if we don’t know who he is? We can give any interpretation to this word according to our wish. It is God all human beings are waiting for. Because all believes that one day God will come and our all troubles are going to end. But some people are afraid of death. They don’t except death as simple as that. And both things are come at their time only. Neither before time nor after time. And desire is also endless thing.

10. “The subject of the play is not Godot but ‘Waiting”. Central idea of this play or central theme of this play is not Godot. It is “Waiting”. Waiting is at the center of this play. There is always some kind of waiting in our life which we live. All the time we all are waiting for something to be happened in our life to be done. We prepared our self for something or let’s say for waiting.

11.  I done both of things. I read play and as well as I watched movie also. Reading play is also different experience and we get lot of time to think between the lines and we can understand dialogues properly. But it cannot give us background things like how play is supposed to perform on the stage.  Because play is written for performance not for reading. And when we watched movie version of this play we can understand that how dialogue delivery is going on between two characters. How they entertain there live audience. How they interact with audience and how camera and audio visual things trying capture ideas of writer how they deliver it to audience with the help of audio and visuals.

12. Personally I like this scene Vladimir – Estragon killing time in questions and conversations while waiting because our life also seems like this. Time pass and doing infinite actions is reflection of our time. We all are also passing our times as such. He also speaks like this that “Time has stopped”,  “Everything seems Black” , “How time flies when someone is happy” this all are dialogues of Vladimir. “What can we do, there is nothing can we do expects passing our times. They doing all infinite actions, meaningless actions. But may be hat actions are very important to them.

13.Yes, there is existential crisis or meaninglessness of human existence in the irrational and indifference when Vladimir and Estragon are doing meaningless actions to pass their time. And at the end of this play when both are tired of Waiting For Mr.Godot and they are planning to suicide. They wants to commit suicide with the help of rope they want to tie with tree and wants to hang themselves ant trying to die.

14. If we look this idea of suicide in Existentialism we can say that every person is free to do whatever they want to do. But at the another level they can’t blame God for anything. They themselves are responsible for all the things. They are free to do suicide even and they can kill there selves. If they don’t want to exist anymore in this world but with some positive strength.

15. With the help of this historical reading we can say that Beckett thinks that Ireland is a slave of England and can’t free himself from this. We can also read this things with the help of colonial aspect.

                                                        Thank You …

Breath - A Play By Samuel Beckett

Breath - A Play By Samuel Beckett

Here is my  interpretation about this Play Breath  by Samuel Beckett.

First of all if we watch this video without any background reading and without knowing that who write this play we must speak this words that

"What is this all Rubbish kind of things".

Yes, we find this play very rubbish at it's first look. While watching this play we also feel Nausea kind of feelings. But when we apply so many things over this we can find that this play is very interesting. Full of philosophies of life. But it is all our interpretations that we are giving to this play.

As Samuel Beckett says in his quote that,

"Nothing is more important than nothing".

Same thing we can apply here that our life is not important as such. We born with some cries as shown in this play. Then comes waste and all types of Garbage. Our life is same like garbage. Nothing  fruitful emerges from it.

How i would like to explain that as said in Bhagavad Gita,

Tumhara kya gaya jo tum rote ho? Tum kya laaye the, Jo tumne kho diya? Tumne kya paida kiya tha jo naash ho gaya? Na tum kuch lekar aaye, Jo liya yahin se liya, Jo diya yahin par diya! Khaali haath aaye, khaali haath chale! Jo aaj tumhara hai, kal kisi aur ka tha, Parson kisi aur ka hoga! Tum ise apna samajh kar magn ho rahe ho, Bass yahi parsantta tumhare dukhon ka karan Hai!

Parivartan sansar ka Niyam hai! Jise tum mrityu samajhte ho Vahi toh jeevan hai! Ek xann mein tum karodon ke swami ban jaate ho, dusre hee xann tum darider ho jaate ho! Tera mera chotta badda, apna paraya, mann se mita do, Vichaar se hata do Phir sab tumhara hai aur tum sabke ho!

It is the central thing.

That's why Nothingness is at the center in this play.

Or we can also say that this waste and garbage is representation of our thoughts that we think that we are something but in actual life we are nothing.

We all are (means All Human Beings) like waste or garbage. It doesn't matters that what we are? We are Shakespeare or Alexander every one are like same,
"A Handful of Dust" which has to destroy

                                                   Thank You ....

To The Lighthouse By Virginia Woolf

To The Lighthouse By Virginia Woolf

Respected Sir,

As we completed "To The Lighthouse" ....  I observed this many things in this work of art like,

1) We all know that Virginia Woolf has mastery over this stream of consciousness technique and she writes her all of works in this style only. We can see in this novel also that how she portraitist every characters in his subconscious level of mind. Because we all know that human relations are very complicated relations it self and Virginia tries to showcase them with the help of some characters like Mrs.Ramsay and Lily Briscoe. James also don't like his own father. We can not understand character of Mrs.Ramsay fully that why she is doing service for everyone. It is her real nature or she wants something else. Lily Briscoe is also don't know that what she wants till the end of this novel.

May be this novel is a answer for this question that "Women Can't Paint, Women Can't Write".

It is very biographical work of art so we can say that Virginia tries to prove something about her personal relations withe her family members and with others.

2) If we talk about character of Mrs.Ramsay she is very good and ideal image which stands for ancient time similar to ancient woman. But if we think about modern time then she is not ideal woman. Because now a days no one likes to serve any one like servant.  We can not understand Mrs.Ramsay that why she is doig this kind of things. For getting name and fame or she must be thinking to remembered after her death by people like she likes to preserve much. She is trying to preserve her good image in front of other people or her family members who are missing her after her death also and she becomes immortal at the end of this novel.

3) We can interpret that Lighthouse stands for the symbol of Mrs. Ramsay. She always becomes emotional guide for other characters. As Lighthouse is central figure of the novel, she is also in the center of this novel  and other characters are surround her at the periphery.she is guide for her children and for her husband that she is giving guidance for life to her son James as well as to her husband.   But, unfortunately, she becomes a wall between her husband and children. She is not allowing James to meet with his father and after death of Mrs.Ramsay Mr.Ramsay needs support of his children but he couldn't. She gives Light and Enlightenment to her family and family members. She also showed path to Lily Briscoe at the and of this novel.

5) “To the Lighthouse’ is many ways a ‘Kunstlerroman’ novel.  First of all we try to find the meaning of this word that what is mean by this word ‘Kunstlerroman’. It mean "artist's novel" in English, is a narrative about an artist's growth to maturity It means which describes development or a struggle of an artist. It also deals with ‘arrogant rejection of the commonplace life’, in this novel the character of Lily makes it ‘Kunstlerroman’ novel. In this novel Lily Briscoe is a artist and she suffered a lot to establish her work of art that she always in a worries of this words like,"Women Can't Paint, Women Can't Write". She always tries to prove her self and at the end she got the vision that she finished her painting of Mrs.Ramsay. we can also say that this whole novel is it self a struggle of artist to establish his or her art.  Lily Briscoe struggles for her painting as art as well as Mrs.Ramsay struggles for making her own art of living and preserving the human nature.

7) If we try to compare this both the things Novel and Film I found one difficulty that language of novel is more difficult then the language of movie. Because we all know that Virginia Woolf is a master of writing in the style of stream of conciseness. That's why when we read real novel first we understand nothing and then we try for second time we feel more pain in words then dialogue of movie.  Movie is more simplifying this language that's why it doesn't reach to the heart of renders.  So with the help of this statement we can say that novel is more poignant than the movie.
                                                                                                                                                                                   Thank You ..........
